Slow fashion made in small batches.

Enchantress is a sustainable and ethical clothing brand designed and made in Christchurch, New Zealand. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.

Founder, Laura Borrmeister, established this brand to help create a cleaner fashion industry. We make timeless statement pieces from scrap fabric, old curtains and discarded mens’ shirts, giving them a second life. Laura hand sources these from op-shops across her hometown. She is also given scraps from businesses like interior design studio LHDesigns, saving them from landfill….

The fast fashion industry uses an unnecessary amount of water, its time we start thinking consciously before buying fast fashion.

 FAQs

  • We do not participate in fast fashion. Our prices reflect the time that goes into seeking out fabrics we think you’ll love at second-hand stores, creating a new pattern from scratch for every piece of fabric so we have no fabric waste, and handmaking every garment you buy. We might be higher priced than fast fashion brands, but when you buy from us you are buying quality, you are buying sustainability, and you are not buying slave labour.

  • If your Enchantress piece arrives and it just doesn't work for you and you want to return it, here is how:

    • Notify us within 14 days of receiving an item if you would like a return or an exchange. Please contact us at: laura@enchantress.co.nz

    • All products must be in original condition, not worn, stained or washed.

    • All refunds will be processed once the garment is returned to us and checked. This will take approximately 5-10 working days.

    • All return and exchange postage is covered by the customer.

    • All returns must be sent with signed or tracked delivery within the 14 day notification period. If an item gets lost, we will not be able to refund you.

  • Our sizes vary because of our upcycling and the sustainable way we design and create each garment. If you want to know if a particular garment will fit you or want more sizing information, please get in touch: laura@enchantress.co.nz. Our reply time is 1-2 days.

  • Most of our pieces are one-off, especially our blazers. So we will not be restocking an exact fabric pattern or colour unless we can source the fabric again.

  • We currently only ship in New Zealand, but if you live outside of New Zealand and our pieces, please get in touch: laura@enchantress.co.nz, and we will work with you to ship to wherever you are.

    Shipping in New Zealand will take 6-10 days to arrive to you. This takes into account our final look over the garment and packaging it for you.

  • Please email us at: laura@enchantress.co.nz, and we will help make it right. Our response time is 1-2 days. Photo evidence and a description will help. Our items are never perfect because all of our garments are made with used fabric, so please be aware of this before purchasing.
